Types of groups that will be offered and tailored to individual need consist of the following:

·    Activities of Daily Living

·    Cooking and Baking Groups

·    Reminiscence Therapy

·    Current Events

·    Stretch & Exercise

·    Music Therapy

·    Creative Arts

·    Sensory Stimulation

·    Pet Therapy

·    Movement Therapy

·    Reality Orientation

·    Horticulture

·    Tactile Groups

·    Social Games

·    Patient Education Groups: (coping skill, self esteem, etc)

·    Spirituality

·    Theme Parties

·    Psyco-Educational/Diadactic/Patient Groups        

 

                                         

Groups offered by all disciplines, but using different modalities

 

 

·       Life Skills Education Topics and Assertiveness Training, Hygiene and Personnel Care

 

·      Coping Skills Education Topics Communication, Feeling Identification, Grief/Loss and Stress Management

·      Functional Skills Education Topics Remotivation, Values, Money Management and Time Management

 

 

 

Routine Milieu Activities

  

Structured and supervised by Nursing Department, primarily MHA during down times. Dayroom Activities

 

  • Special events
  • Board games, cards
  • Access to TV and VCR - movie bingo
  • Radio Access
  • Access to newspaper and library
  • Video games
  • Karaoke
  • Hand held electronic games

 

ADL's

 

  • Sharps (shaving and showering)
  • Access to water and snacks
  • Meal times
  • Telephone Access
  • Laundry Access

 

These groups are marked on the unit schedules as dayroom activities and are considered necessary for daily functioning, but do not need a progress note completed after each session.
